Vanderheiden's Opener Ended Early with Fuel Line Issues

Cole Vanderheiden was finally able to get his 2023 season underway on Saturday night with a trip to Eagle (Neb.) Raceway for the facility's opening night.

A stout field of 27 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars registered for battle. Starting third in his heat race, Cole slipped as far back as eight before rallying late to the fifth-and-final transfer spot.

The team made adjustments for the feature, and "ColeTrain" was excited for the finale. Unfortunately, he found his night quickly coming to an early end with fuel line issues on the warm-up lap.

He retired from the finale before a lap could be completed and was credited with a 20th-place finish.
