Cole Vanderheiden qualifies for RaceSaver Nationals Championship A, forced to wait until 2026
Nearly 100 entries made the call for Eagle Raceway's annual RaceSaver Nationals over Labor Day weekend, and Papillion, Nebraska's Cole Vanderheiden was all-in on the action, eventually racing his way into Sunday's RaceSaver Nationals championship via the weekend's final B-Main. Unfortunately for "Cole Train," a chance at a title will have to wait until 2026, as Mother Nature invaded washing away all hopes for the weekend's finale. The 2025 RaceSaver Nationals championship will be conducted during the 2026 edition over Labor Day weekend.
Vanderheiden's path to the RaceSaver Nationals A-Main was hard-fought, yet impressive, kicking things off with a fifth-place finish in Thursday's Race of Champions, all of which highlighted with an impressive 14-spot charge (24th to tenth) in Saturday's preliminary. The former RaceSaver Nationals A-Main starter finished fourth in Sunday's B-Main to officially "lock in" to the National Championship.
